🕎 Happy Hanukkah from the Garnet Valley School District
As the sun sets this Thursday, Dec. 7, we usher in the start of Hanukkah, continuing until sundown on Friday, Dec. 15. This eight-day Festival of Lights is a time of joy, reflection, and celebration for many in our school community.
Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and the miracle of the oil that burned for eight days. It's a time for lighting the menorah, playing dreidel, and enjoying traditional foods.
At Garnet Valley, we recognize and honor the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and their families. Celebrating Hanukkah is an opportunity for us all to learn about and appreciate the rich traditions of our Jewish community members.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and joyous Hanukkah filled with light and happiness. Let's embrace the spirit of unity and togetherness this season brings.
