State Police Training

Dear School Community, 

On January 30 through February 1,  2023, the Pennsylvania State Police will be using the Pennington Elementary School in order to train for an active shooter event.  The training will take place from 7 AM until approximately 2 PM daily. We realize that these types of drills, although incredibly necessary, can cause fear and anxiety. It is for this reason that we wanted to inform school community members, as they can expect to see increased police and emergency services vehicles and personnel throughout the Pennington campus.  

Troopers  are trained to enter classrooms, large meeting spaces, restrooms, and hallways. This will allow them to test their skills and ability to think on their feet in a real life atmosphere.
