Garnet Valley School District’s Special Education and Student Services department is committed to providing a full continuum of services to all students with identified disabilities.

The mission of the Garnet Valley School District is to provide quality education opportunities for all. In pursuit of this mission, the Garnet Valley School District will: Exude enthusiasm for the learning process; Address the unique needs of each learning endeavor to provide all students with a solid educational foundation for life-long learning; Help students develop their thinking skills; Prepare students for responsible citizenship in a world of constant change; Develop a high-performing workforce.

Notice of Special Education Services

The public school districts and charter schools of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, provide special education and related service to resident children with disabilities who are ages three through twenty-one. The notice describes

the types of disabilities that might qualify the child tor such programs and services

The Pennsylvania School Code requires each school district to develop and implement a Special Education Plan, aligned with the strategic plan.

The Garnet Valley School District Special Education Plan shall be developed every three years.

Bus Fire

Today, one of our school buses caught fire while it was receiving repairs to its electrical system at our maintenance garage. The bus maintenance garage is located behind the high school. Since the bus was proactively identified as needing repair, there were no students or drivers on board.
