Problem Solving

In the personal/social component of our Developmental Guidance curriculum, problem solving is a key piece!

3rd grade students are introduced to these five steps of problem solving during Developmental Guidance lessons. We utilize these steps throughout students' duration at GVE!

These steps are multipurpose. We encourage you to practice these steps with your child(ren) at home as well!

5 Steps of Problem Solving

  1. Identify the Problem.

  2. Think of as many solutions as possible to solve the problem.

  3. For each solution, think about the consequences. Consequences can be positive or negative!

  4. Choose a solution and use it.

  5. Is it working? If not, what can I do now?
