1-3-2022 Snow DAY

Dear School Community,

All schools and offices will be closed today. Additionally, after school activities and practices are also canceled. The timing of today’s storm in conjunction with freezing temperatures prompted us to use one of our instructional calendar’s “built in” snow days today. 

The forecasted precipitation amounts doubled from last night to this morning. Although the totals are relatively small, the height of the accumulation is predicted to occur as our students and employees are arriving at school and/or are waiting at bus stops. Also, temperatures will remain below freezing for the entirety of the day. 

Closing schools based on a forecast always presents the risk of being wrong, and today’s certainly has that potential. However, we did not want to risk sending our buses and especially our student drivers out onto the roads with the chance of unsafe conditions.
