Rescheduled - New Realities of Parenting
Due to a number of conflicts with other events within our school community, the GV-CTC has rescheduled the New Realities of Parenting event to Wednesday, November 9th. The event will still take place at 7:00 p.m. at Garnet Valley Middle School.

As you now know, BusPatrol outfitted the entire fleet of Garnet Valley buses with automated enforcement technology to detect the license plates of vehicles that fail to stop for school buses, putting children at risk.
Transportation Delays Possible
Fire alarms at GVMS were triggered by an issue in one of our Family and Consumer Science classrooms. As a result an evacuation was held. Due to the time of day and the number of students and employees outside of the building, our buses and district transportation will be delayed. All buildings will be affected.
School Breakfast Served at No Charge for Grades K-8
As of October 1, 2022, and through the end of the 2022-2023 school year, Garnet Valley School District schools, excluding Garnet Valley High School, will be able to serve students a school breakfast at no charge.
Rosh Hashanah
Monday, September 26th begins the religious celebration known as Rosh Hashanah. It is a time for looking forward to a new year with anticipation and reflecting on the past year to improve ourselves for the next.
Caution: Accident
There was an accident on Route 1 between Stoney Bank and Valleybrook Roads. Currently, the district transportation fleet has no access to Walnut Hill, Brandywine Circle, Lydia Hollow, or Bonnie Lane. Emergency Management Services estimate that it could be close to 10AM before the issue is resolved.
Health Plan and Pennington: Board Meeting Update
The Board unanimously approved the 2022-23 District Health and Safety Plan and also supported the goal of normalizing student life throughout the school community. Board also approved $10M to move forward with planning, design, and critical work at Pennington. This decision does not mean that the district is committed to moving forward with either project. Instead, it approves the expense of planning and design and a portion of the totality of the projects.
Before and After School Programming for K-5 Students
Our team is proud to announce that Garnet Valley has partnered with Champions to provide before and after-school programming for our K-5 students next school year.

Lunch Program for K-8
The federal program that allowed Garnet Valley School District to provide free meals to all students in grades K-8 is expected to expire June 30, 2022. Grades K-8 will return to pre-pandemic food service operations for the 2022-2023 school year
